Delivery Mode

The Professional Diploma in Computerised Accounts & Payroll is delivered on-line live by a subject matter expert, one evening per week over 13 weeks.  Think of this as your classroom in the cloud with the ability to be able to interact and ask questions from the tutor and classmates as you would in a traditional classroom.  Classes are recorded providing you with the flexibility to learn and revise at your own pace and intensity.

The Programme Syllabus

The programme syllabus is rigorously practical and relevant to the work of a modern bookkeeper or payroll professional.  Graduates will gain a comprehensive and practical knowledge of the application of the latest industry leading accounting software Quickbooks and the payroll software Brightpay.

You will learn and understand the concepts of double entry bookkeeping by entering sales, purchases, bank transactions, journal entries, prepayments, accruals and producing the relevant month end financial reports. Learn how to reconcile a bank accounts and produce a VAT report. You will manually calculate payroll using the Irish PAYE system and put your knowledge into practice by using Brightpay payroll software to run the payroll for you.

Complimented by full industry versions of the software along with loads of practice examples, students will get a full understanding of the concepts of double entry bookkeeping and how to run a payroll.

Programme Certification

The Computerised Accounts & Payroll programme is University Credit Rated, meaning that it is globally recognised and carries 10 ECTS credits aligned to the National Framework of Qualifications.  This provides you with the assurance that it has been externally validated by an expert University panel.

The Programme has been endorsed by our Expert Industry Advisory Group, this verifies that it contains the skills and competencies that recruiters and hiring companies are looking for.

Programme Membership & Networking

Graduates of the programme are entitled to apply for Associate Membership of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.  One of the key benefits of enrolling onto this programme is that it is aligned to Level 2 of the ICB exams.  As an ICB Bookkeeper you’ll stand out from the crowd with professional letters after your name and access to vital support resources, legal advice and other benefits long after the course is completed.
