  • Introduction to why and how VAT applies, learn how to extract VAT information from the system and prepare relevant VAT returns.
  • How to process monthly & weekly payroll, enter starters & leavers, PAYE, PRSI & USC calculations and produce ROS returns.
  • Develop an understanding of the main accounting principles.
  • Understand the important function that computerised accounts plays in supporting the business and how they can be utilised to provide key insights into business performance through effective reporting.

Clive Hand has a BA in Accounting & Finance and is a qualified accountant with the ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants), a globally recognised accounting organisation based in the UK. Clive is the owner of Bluestone Accounting, an online accounting business supporting small and medium enterprise through the adoption of cloud accounting platforms and online payroll.

The average salary for a professional bookkeeper in Ireland is €34,334 (Indeed Sept '23).

Graduates are entitled to apply for associate membership of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) & use the designatory letters AICB after their name. 

The total cost is €400 to include all tuition, support, materials, lesson recaps, exercises, assessment & certification. You may pay this as two equal monthly instalments of €225. See our finance page for further payment options available.

We work closely with our expert industry advisory group to ensure that all of our programme assessments mirror real-world scenarios. These emulate exact situations you will face on the job. Our Bookkeeping module assessment consists of accounting reports printed from Quickbooks based on a real-world accounting scenario - exactly as if you were completing accounts for a client or finance manager. 

There is an online assessment for both the Bookkeeping & Payroll modules. Both end-of-module online assessments must be passed (50%) to achieve certification and gain the Award.
